I don't like a lot of Dr。 Suess books because of the many nonsense words that are usually included。。。 I'm so glad to have discovered Julia Donaldson and other writers! I wish I could say that my daughter grew as sleep as I did after reading Dr。 Seuss's Sleep Book, but as she moves toward the ripe age of 5, her energy stores seem to increase。 Despite that, I think there would be days when Dr。 Seuss's focus on the contagion of yawns across his imaginative creatures would lead to early slumber。 Much like most of Dr。 Seuss's books, the rhyme and rhythm are tight and the creativity inspires readers to keep their brains open to the possibilities of a wide imaginatio I wish I could say that my daughter grew as sleep as I did after reading Dr。 Seuss's Sleep Book, but as she moves toward the ripe age of 5, her energy stores seem to increase。 Despite that, I think there would be days when Dr。 Seuss's focus on the contagion of yawns across his imaginative creatures would lead to early slumber。 Much like most of Dr。 Seuss's books, the rhyme and rhythm are tight and the creativity inspires readers to keep their brains open to the possibilities of a wide imagination。Note: All of my picture book reviews come in packages of three, where I choose to review my favorite of the three。This book is reviewed alongside two other Seuss-centered books: Would You, Could You Plant a Tree and Is a Camel a Mammal。 Both books are deserving of their own reviews because of their educational value situated in the typical Seussian rhyme and imagination (despite being written by modern authors)。 And yet, the sleep book was the book I chose simply for its impact on my own sleepiness:) 。。。more

4 stars & 4/10 hearts。 Such a humorous, light, funny before-bed book! My siblings and I all enjoyed it。They do it each night。 And quite often I wonderHow they do this big job without making a blunder。But that is THEIR problem。Not yours。 And not mine。 The point is: They’re going to bed。And that’s fine。

Tracy

Yes。 Rhyming, funny, go to bed。

Kylie Abecca

Quite well done。 This book is hypnotic and impossible not to yawn through 🤣

Elizabeth Meadows

Great book for bedtime。 I challenge anyone to try and read this without yawning!

This book always puts me to sleep-- in the best way! It is cozy and its rhymes are a stape of Dr。 Seuss that are familiar and great。

*Warning: this book should be read in the bed* Is a funny little book made me yawn 🥱(did not make me bored, you’ll yawn too if you read it) Dr Seuss is not forgotten to make the reader amused with awesome and funny illustrations along with the story telling。

Sarah Brooks

I dare you to not yawn while reading。

Classic silly rhymes of Seuss, a little too singsongy to really put little ones to sleep, although my toddler conked out halfway through。。。 But since he's been a little under the weather I don't know if that's a good comparison。 Either way, enjoyed the illustrations and silly story。 Classic silly rhymes of Seuss, a little too singsongy to really put little ones to sleep, although my toddler conked out halfway through。。。 But since he's been a little under the weather I don't know if that's a good comparison。 Either way, enjoyed the illustrations and silly story。 。。。more

I confess, I write very few reviews, but I happened to be searching for a favorite quote from the Sleep Book and stumbled across it on goodreads。 This is one of our favorites! The kids are out by the last line, and I'm ready for bed, too。 The line I was searching for was the one about the birds building the crazy nest, and that it's not your problem and not mine, and for some reason, the line always helps me to put away my worries for the night。 So, here I am, leaving a review for one of my favo I confess, I write very few reviews, but I happened to be searching for a favorite quote from the Sleep Book and stumbled across it on goodreads。 This is one of our favorites! A fun book with beautiful drawings。

Fun story to read a child at bed time。 It starts with how contagious a yawn is and the different things people do before bed and while their asleep in the usual silly Dr。 Seuss way lolIt encourages a child rhat its time for bed and join every character in the book and rest。 Pretty long for a child with short attention span but hey, they might just enjoy it 😁

A tale told in rhyme of how one very small bug started to yawn, and the yawn spread to make creatures far and wide get ready for bed。 This book is recommended to be read in bed just in case the reader starts to yawn, and gets sleepy, then they too will be prepared for a good night's sleep。 A tale told in rhyme of how one very small bug started to yawn, and the yawn spread to make creatures far and wide get ready for bed。 This book is recommended to be read in bed just in case the reader starts to yawn, and gets sleepy, then they too will be prepared for a good night's sleep。 。。。more

A great book to read your little ones before bed。 Plenty long enough to give them a chance to settle down and relax。

Becky

The rhyming in this book is near perfect 👌

Emily

Entertaining, but not good for bedtime。 Natural pace for reading is much to fast for enducing sleep。

I’m gonna be light sleeper after this lol!

Perhaps, since I grew up with Dr。 Seuss's books, over the decades they've started to lose their charm for me? I found Dr。 Seuss's Sleep Book too repetitive, and a bit lengthy。 Maybe the tedium is the point, if you're trying to coax a stubborn little one into sleep? One page did have an unusual charm, and felt totally relatable:A Jedd is in bed,And the bed of a JeddIs the softestOf beds in the world。It is said。He makes it from pom pomsHe grows on his head,And he's sleeping right nowOn the softest Perhaps, since I grew up with Dr。 Seuss's books, over the decades they've started to lose their charm for me? Great Book!I read this book to my little siblings at night time and they love to listen to it and see all the wonderful things。 Dr。 Seuss did such a wonderful job with this book。 In fact, we say in my family that his sleepy magic really does work。

This book is specifically written for kids and parents to read while they’re in getting ready for bed and when they need a little bit of help to drift off。 As a serial insomniac, I approve。 Sweet dreams。

Wholesome and whimsical。 Headspace should do a rendition of this

This is another silly way to get children to go to sleep。
